I play in clay.  A lot.

Four years ago, I took a beginning ceramics class and haven't looked back.  I spend as much time in the studio as I do in my sewing room, if not more.  Primarily, I throw on the wheel and do almost no hand-building.  Here are some the pieces I've completed or are currently working on.  I work with a white stone wear clay body.

UPDATE (6 Jun 2013):

The pieces above are really old.  I threw these two years ago and have made many more items since then.  I made another set of dishes, a tubular drum, coffee mugs, a casserole dish, fountain, and have recently taken to making bottles.  Once my greenware is fired, I'll snap some photos and update this page.

  1. Another site of you :-) Wonderful!

  2. Nice pieces! Is that footed bowl raku crackle white? I like the other one, too - that's kind of what I want to do with my mega-pot!

    1. Stalker! I mean, hey Kathy. =) I am tickled that you found my blog and commented!

    2. Oh and yes, the footed bowl is Raku white crackle.

    3. Yeah, that's me - a crazy white-crackled stalker lol. I like you blog and I am really impressed with your sewing!

  3. Hi Lynn, so sorry to have missed meeting you when you visited Sydney recently. I hear you had a lovely day out in Cabramatta and Sharon kindly gave me a few of your fabulous pottery buttons, so wanted to send you a special thanks. They are exquisite and very much appreciated.

  4. Hi Lynn,
I came across your blog by coincidence by browsing through sewing blogs. I am also a potter (amangst other things like you) and live in Sydney. It is always interesting to see what other potters are doing in different parts of the world. It looks like you have been visiting our neck of the woods recently. If you ever happen to return let me know, should be neat to meet!
All the best and kind regards

Thanks for commenting! I appreciate and read them all - even if I can not personally respond.
