I'm on a sewing roll. I completed three tops (!) and am almost finished with another jacket (Jalie 2559).
This print is SO far out of my comfort zone for jackets - even though I bought the fabric with the sole intention of making a jacket. Cray right? The colors are BRIGHT. Brilliant. Almost neon. These colors are so loud I can't hear myself think when I'm in the same room with this jacket. But you know what? I'm going to rock the hell out of it when I'm finished.
Wait. Are floral jackets still in?

this is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteIf you like it, it doesn't really matter if it is in or not - just have fun wearing it :)
ReplyDeleteYou speak the truth! I normally don't follow trends as evidenced by my love of boot-cut jeans!
DeleteThey are. I was scoping Hancock spot the bolt table for a floral lightweight denim.
ReplyDeleteLove. Love. Love. This will get worn a ton. Watch. Plus you are the jacket whisperer so I know it'll be awesome !!
I agree with Nakisha. You are the jacket whisperer!! It will be a pretty awesome jacket. (She didn't go to Austin after all, btw.)
DeleteBwahahahaha. Jacket whisperer - I love it!
DeleteSo lovely. I can't wait to start on my jacket. Its been months since I pulled out the pattern and fabric, but I haven't started as of yet. Love you work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie! You've made some awesome tops, though!
DeleteFloral jackets are eternal! Especially roses. I love your fabric choice and the jacket looks amazing. Great work.
ReplyDeleteThanks T. The print is wild for me, but I'm going to roll with it. =)
DeleteFlorals are everywhere right now, so your jacket is definitely on-trend. Looking forward to seeing the finished jacket!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle. I'm almost finished! Pesky notched (or shall I say 'botched') collar gets me every time.
DeleteOoooh... so pretty and yes floral jackets are still in.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila!
DeleteI love the print... nice jacket
ReplyDeleteThanks Kely. It's growing on me. =)
DeleteIf you make it and you wear it; it is in! Looks sensational!
ReplyDeleteLove this comment! Thank you!
DeleteMe too! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour jacket is gorgeous, can't wait to see it finished. I have some bright fabrics that I've been eyeing off for jackets and just not quite ready to jump into it. After seeing yours I think I might go pattern hunting to see what would work well. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis jacket will *always* be in! Oh my goodness, it is fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is an adorable print which you'll be able to wear with multiple items.
