The shell of the coat is complete. Next is to cut and sew the lining. I'm still trying to decide what type of lining to use: Kasha or polyester. I'll think on it a few days before proceeding. In the meantime, here are some photos.
The design is remarkably symmetric throughout the coat. I did not intend to do this and tried not to put circles near the bust. Having it sewn together, the circles on the front aren't as bad as I originally thought.
Until next time, peace.

DeleteYes, this coat is going to work - I'm thrilled for you. Can you insert a piece of lining in the coat and see how it feels before deciding?
ReplyDeleteThanks SaraLiz. I think that's what I will do.

DeleteWow!!! I love that coat, looks fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteI can understand your predicament on the lining... I have some gorgeous bemberg lining I got in Feb for lining pants... But I don't know if I'll be okay with the slipperiness (that's a word,rt?)
What if you tried on other garments lined with kasha and polyester to figure our what YOU like, not worrying about what will go with this garment?
Slipperiness is definitely a word in my book. =)
DeleteI've made garments lined with Kasha, Bemberg, and polyester. I favor Kasha and Bemberg over polyester any day. The concern I have is no so much how it will feel, but if the coat will be too heavy. Plus I'm a little scared to cut into the Kasha since I got it for such a good price in Toronto. It's really expensive here and I don't want to waste it. Silly me! I bought this lining for this coat and I'm afraid to use it.
Thanks Linda!
